Nibs

Getting The Ink on the Paper

My pens are designed to use the #6 JoWo nibs made in Germany; this size is optimum for comfort and quality in writing. The price of your pen includes your choice of a Steel Nib in two-tone, polished steel, or black ruthenium colors, and in sizes of XF, F, M, B, 1.1 stub, & 1.5 stub. If you desire, you can buy 18k gold nibs in F, M, & B sizes by special order at cost (including postage). If you absolutely have to have a nib smaller than a JoWo #6, I can also acquire the smaller #5 JoWo nib in the size range and colors described above. All nibs will tested, aligned, & smoothed before shipping. A Cartridge / Converter provided as the filling system. Bear in mind that the ink you use and the paper you write on will also affect the performance of your nib.

A note: First, like everyone else, I acquire my nibs from Meisternibs, the sole distributor in the US for JoWo nibs.

Number 5 nibs include polished steel, two-tone and ruthenium plated nibs in XF, F, M, B, 1.1 stub, & 1.5 stub:

As the sole distributor of JoWo nibs Meisternibs is occasionally out of some nib sizes, colors, and materials for either #6 or #5 JoWo nibs.  I will do my best to let you know well in advance if what you want is unavailable or when it will be available.

I am also able to obtain polished and two-tone nibs from another German manufacturer of nibs, Bock Nibs, in XF, F, M, and B though the firm Classic Nibs. JoWo and Bock nibs both have a reputation for making excellent nibs, and supply many commercial pen manufacturers.

I will do my best to make sure your nib will perform smoothly, with good flow for you (based on using Waterman Florida Blue ink), I am not a nib-meister and I do not do nib grinding or custom flow work. I can recommend a professional nib-meister should you desire those services, but I have no control over the timing and cost of their services.
